Poetry I've written

look further down - it gets better. ordered chronologically.

A blender, A blunder
A piece of cake down under
The stairwell squeaks
The house-mouse creaks
The hair on a mare over there
Has incredible glare
And here I sit in wonder.
[I think I'd better get to bed - it's getting *too* late]

fishy fishy in the brook
escaped quickly from the hook
got away from the fryin' pan
and from the boys as fast as he can.

Only the things of Christ will last
After many hopes and dreams are past
Not the wealth and stuff we have amassed
Only things done for Christ will last

Is it really in buying just one more book,
Or the fashion statement to finish our look,
Or hanging out in the breakfast nook?
How 'bout some time in the good book?

Is it in the shoes we wear,
Or the way we do our hair,
All these things make us fair:
But don't put in way too much care.

Is it in the things we buy?
Or in the trades we ply?
How I often wonder why
We often leave Christ high and dry.

Christ is our all in all
It is for us He took the fall
And paid our sins upon a tree
paid salvation for you and me.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

If it seems like I am stuttering in my poetry, you're somewhat correct - the first 2 lines is closer to what I was singing when I was half asleep. I just seemed to come up with 2 poems that start the same way. I'll try not to do that again.

Only what is done for Christ will last
After all else is sinkiing past
What will people say, what will they do
When Jesus Christ will come for you?

Sing a little here and there
Weddings and dirges everywhere
What will you do when it's time to die?
Is your destiny above clouds and sky?

It doesn't end 6 feet under
That is truly the biggest blunder
Believers in Jesus are not surprised
They are looking for Him in the skies.

When you die you go to be
Hopefully with Jesus eternally
The other place is awful bad
You will feel like you've been had.

The switchover is fast and quick
You have no time to think or blink
You should be ready my friend
If you want to make it in the end.

Some people wait until the last minute
Think they will live like hell and then do their penance
What good is a wasted life
Filled with animosity and strife?

Better to get ready for heaven now
Store treasure in heaven and how
Build up your spiritual bank account
Build up a very large amount.

Love God with all your heart
And your "neighbor" as yourself
These two commands stand apart
Jesus gives you this kind of wealth.

God is not willing that any be lost
He sent Jesus to pay the cost
Loving us until we come to him
Asking for forgiveness salvation to win.

He'll come with a trumpet and a shout
The dead in Christ rise first of all
Then we who are alive will go out
Caught up with them in a thrall.

Then will we ever be with the Lord
And we will be in one accord
Enjoying delights, learning, eating,
And think of all the people meeting!

There's much more to heaven 'told
Just think about the streets of gold
Beautiful colors we've never seen
Brand new body, that's what I mean!

All this is neat and stuff
But some have had just about enough
Where are you with Christ today?
Will you ask Him to forgive or turn Him away?

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

I woke up singing the first line, kind of slow rockish 80's thing.

All I wanna know is more of you
And Lord I know that you love me too
You form your character in me
And make me what you want me to be

You give me songs when I wake
Your love's no mystery to take
Love hopes, suffers long and is kind
Doesn't take long to make up my mind.

When I see your character then I realize
And I see my faults as you open up my eyes
Then I ask for change sayin' Lord change me!
Make me the man that you want me to be.

Lord turn my heart to you
And help me worship you
I pray I follow your word then
Show me that you love me again.

Thank you for the provisions you give
Thank you for the life that I live
Thank you for heaven above
Thank you Lord for your great love.

So many things I could thank you for
Like roof over my head and carpeted floor
Running clear clean water and pencils too
For all these things Lord I do thank you.

It was the sins of the world He spied
He stretched out His hands and He cried
It was on a tree He died
and now my sins are mortified
