Nero7 has LightScribe labelling support. Roxio [is this true of 9?] does not.
Nero
- if suddenly starts to fail simulation and doesn't allow a burn saying "Invalid Track Info", simply change the options in Nero so that it does not do a simulation before it burns. Or better yet, you should try reinstalling nero or applying an update/patch - the installation could be corrupted.
- if nero doesn't work with your burner, upgrade your version of Nero. Drivers for newer burners are built-in to the software. There may have been a copy of Nero that came with your burner - use that or a minimum of that version. you can get updates from the ahead site.
Roxio 9
- this program version is just plain buggy and crashes a lot. Now version 10 is out. but for those who bought version 9, an update is available! I'm testing the patch now.
- ...not to mention the fact that it now requires a real directX9 video card (if your power supply can handle these new ones), not just directx9 software on your built-in video.
Roxio 7
- If you have Roxio 7 and IE7 and plan on using DVD Builder, they will clash. You will need Roxio 9, which requires a DirectX 9 video card.
