Need Him   Why does it seem like life is always broken?
Jesus. He's the name above every name. He's the only way to get to God.
He paid the penalty for our wrongs (God's required punishment for sin is death) by being nailed to a cross and dying in our place, but he requires us to recieve God's 'gift' for ourselves for it to work.
Jesus loved you enough to sacrifice himself for us - "greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (!)".
We are all born with sin (wrongdoing). Leave a child to himself without correction and what you notice is the effects of sin.

The 10 (basic) commandments:
Have no other gods. (Exodus 20:3)
Don't make statues. (Exodus 20:4)
Don't bow down to, worship, or serve statues, icons, pictures, or other religious symbols. (Exodus 20:5)
Don't use God's name as profanity or use it as if it were nothing. You won't be guiltless. (Exodus 20:7)
Don't profane the sabbath. (Exodus 20:8)
Honor your father and mother. (Exodus 20:12)
Don't kill. (govt. is allowed to kill evildoers for justice, but not in malice) (Exodus 20:13)
Don't commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14)
Don't steal. (Exodus 20:15)
Don't lie against your neighbor. (Exodus 20:16)
Don't desire something that belongs to someone else. (Exodus 20:17)

If a person has gone against any of these things at any time in his/her life, the Bible calls this sin. Because of the penalties of sin (spiritual death), we need a savior. Savior from what? the wrath of God. God is love, but he also must judge sin. He would rather have mercy, but he created us with a will and the ability to make choices.

Essentially it can be summed up in these two: Love God with all your heart (Deuteronomy 6:5), and your neighbor as yourself (Leviticus 19:18).

If you've never had Jesus come to live in your heart, you don't have to wait, you can ask Him in right now, and he will never leave you nor forsake you. Pray something like this sincerely from your heart:
Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead so I can be justified and saved.
Please take over my life and change me, and lead me in your purpose for my life.

If you prayed that prayer, The Bible says you are a new creature, and old things have passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). "That is thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9) Go and tell someone! Maybe they won't accept it, but tell someone! And make sure you attend a good, Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church. Get a Bible ($20 new, but used is less) and read it daily, esp. in the morning brfore the day starts. If you can handle a King James version go with that. If not, get a New King James version. If the Bible bookstore doesn't have it, they can probably order one for you. Thompson chain reference kind is useful (but they run about $60).
