700W flat-speaker pristine-sounding 5.1 home theater system $1050 buy (not in stores yet as of feb2007)
I would not recommend this 700W if you live in an apartment — the combined sound pressure of speakers this size would rumble the walls & blast the neighbors. it works out to average 117W per speaker, so calculating 5 midranges at 117W...
fine for apartments. fits on bookshelf. 5 cd changer, radio, tape deck. it works out to average 150W per speaker. remote. Haven't read any reviews on this, but it seems nice and inexpensive.
